Throwback Thursday: Revisiting Disney’s Halloweentown
For the next few days, Disney is hosting a 24/7 Halloweentown livestream on Youtube! Even though it was released in the late 90’s, I still fondly remember watching this movie (as well as Hocus Pocus!) every October growing up.
What made Halloweentown so memorable for me and many others was its cozy atmosphere and wholesome charm. The movie does a great job making the town feel lively and inviting, thanks in part to its colorful cast of monsters. Admittedly, the movie’s plot is relatively straightforward, with a twist villain you can probably sense coming from a mile away. Still, I believe that Halloweentown’s charm makes up for any shortcomings with the plot.
With Halloween just around the corner, there’s no better time to revisit this cult classic and remember what made it an iconic film for the season!
