Everything We Know About Fortnite: Treasure Hunters

Fortnite is gearing up for its next crossover mini-season, Treasure Hunters, launching November 1st. Although Epic Games has revealed few details about this upcoming season, the available information gives us an idea of what to expect. Here’s everything we know so far, including official information and rumors.
What We Know So Far
Based on Epic’s recent social media posts, Treasure Hunters is obviously themed around hunting for treasure. Specifically, six competing factions will attempt to open the mysterious masked figure’s treasure chest. The trailer frames the contest almost like a game show, with the figure presumably acting as its host.
Some fans believe that this figure is Midas (due to the golden mask) or The Foundation (due to the mask’s shape and the figure’s tone of voice). It’s also possible that the figure is an entirely new character for Fortnite’s overarching lore.
As seen at the end of the trailer, one of next season’s factions will be led by Monkey D. Luffy, with the One Piece crew officially making it into Fortnite! Leaks have confirmed the collaboration will be based on the anime, not the live-action adaptation. Also, as a reminder, here are all of the currently known factions:
The Return of Classic POIs?
Besides gameplay/collabs, we also have an idea of what the Treasure Hunters map will look like. Here is an official image released by Epic:
Keen fans have noticed that many POIs shown on this map (as well as those from other trailers) closely resemble POIs from previous chapters. While they are not exact matches, the map appears to have a combination of locations from every previous BR map. This even includes Chapter 7, with the return of Cluster’s duck from C7S2!
Many believe that, like Chapter 2 Remix, this season will feature remixed or combined versions of older POIs. This is something I’ve wanted Epic to try for a long time, especially since Chapter 1 has already received countless redos/revisits.
Could A Live Event Close Out The Season?
Of course, like most other miniseasons, a live event is highly likely in December (in order to line up with the launch of Chapter 8). Considering all of the musical artists attached to this season, it is possible that Epic will host a concert with Lil Uzi and A$AP Rocky. Of course, this has yet to be confirmed.
CONCLUSION
In summary, Treasure Hunters already looks highly promising based on what we know so far. The arrival of One Piece is exciting, considering the amount of anticipation for that collaboration. I’m also a big fan of the idea of Remixed POIs, giving other chapters besides 1 and 2 the chance to be represented. Finally, if the miniseason’s Live Event comes anywhere near the quality of Chapter 2 Remix’s concert, Treasure Hunters could go down as one of Fortnite’s best mini-seasons. Hopefully, the season itself can live up to the enormous hype building around it online.
Are you excited for Treasure Hunters? Will it live up to the hype? Let me know in the comments!
