Throwback Thursday: Remembering I Spy Spooky Mansion

For this week’s Throwback Thursday post, I decided to highlight an often overlooked game from the Wii Era: I Spy Spooky Mansion! Like last Thursday’s pick, Spooky Mansion is a point-and-click game that takes place entirely within the titular mansion.
Living up to this name, the game’s atmosphere is genuinely spooky for a kids’ game. I distinctly remember how the music and sound effect choices added to this creepy atmosphere. As for the characters, Skelly, the rhyming skeleton, guides you through the challenges you need to complete before making your escape!

Of course, being based on the I Spy franchise, many of these puzzles involve finding a series of hidden objects. If my memory serves me correctly, some of these puzzles, along with the motion-controlled minigames, can be surprisingly difficult. The added challenge is a great reason to revisit the game, even 16 years after its original release.
Overall, if you have a Wii (or a compatible emulator) and are interested in trying Spooky Mansion out for yourself, I highly recommend giving it a shot this Halloween season!
