3 Fortnite: Override Trailer Details You Might Have Missed
Fortnite: Override’s season trailer gave players plenty of new details and gameplay to dissect. With so much being packed into the trailer, certain subtler aspects could have gone unnoticed by the average viewer. Here are three details you might have missed.
DETAIL 1: UPCOMING DOOM COLLAB?

This mysterious figure can be spotted within the first 30 seconds of the trailer. Because the camera never directly focuses on him, the best view we have of this skin comes from blurry screenshots. Regardless, certain internet sleuths believe this pixelated silhouette belongs to the “classic” Doomguy from the original Doom game. Although it is hard to make out, certain aspects do seem to line up, such as the apparent green armor and futuristic helmet.
If this truly is the Doomslayer, it seems likely that the collaboration is in conjunction with Doom: The Dark Ages’ new DLC. If so, an edit style featuring Doomguy’s newer “medieval” look would likely prove popular. Either way, the inclusion of another new Doomguy skin in Season 4 would bring another collaboration to be excited for.
DETAIL 2: NEW GUN ABILITIES

This next detail can be spotted more than halfway into the trailer. It appears that certain new weapons will now be equipped with a “score” and “combo” meter. Based on what little we see in the trailer, it is currently unclear how these scores will contribute to general BR gameplay.
They could simply serve as an additional challenge for fun/bragging rights. Conversely, players could compete each round to get the highest score for a specific reward. Regardless, a new feature like this (especially one directly shown off in a trailer) will likely prove to increase competition in otherwise ordinary matches.
DETAIL 3: NEW 1-UP ITEM?

Near the tail end of the trailer, something interesting happens when Geno takes the 1-up token from Jonesy. Specifically, the cinematic shows Geno’s health bar practically doubling in size. While this could just be done to illustrate how powerful the character is, I think it is more likely demonstrating the token’s usefulness in Battle Royale.
The token could serve as a rework of the Self-Revive item, granting the player double their normal health as an “extra life”. Since the Self-Revive item has proven fairly situational, this could serve as an interesting replacement, especially since it matches the season theme.
