Top Lego Sets of The Month – August 2025

As always, there have been a TON of Lego sets released this month. Today, I specifically want to highlight a few of my favorites. To be fair to fans of all different IPs, I’ll try to keep my picks varied.

SET NUMBER ONE – 75433 Jango Fett’s Starship

This set is perfect for any fan of the Prequel Trilogy who doesn’t have the budget for the $300 UCS version. While this version is considerably smaller in terms of scale and piece count, it still will look nice on any collector’s shelf. Additionally, it still comes with some high-quality minifigures. The Jango Fett minifigure is especially well-detailed, considering it is the same one from the UCS set (besides from missing arm printings). Unlike its more expensive counterpart, this set also comes with a Lama Su minifigure, which is a neat addition for anyone who closely follows Clone Wars lore.

SET NUMBER TWO – 72046 Game Boy

As a gamer who wasn’t around when this Game Boy was at its peak, I can still appreciate how the system brought the rise of handheld systems. However, I think this set will certainly be appealing to those who grew up with the system. One positive is that the set is considerably cheap, especially considering it comes with different “screens” and “cartridges”. I personally do not own the NES set due to its price, even though the set was well-designed. While this set is smaller in scale, it still scratches that Nintendo itch in my Lego collection. As a sidenote, this set won’t officially release until October. However, I would certainly consider a pre-order if you have Lego points or just want a gift with purchase.

SET NUMBER THREE – 10358 Transformers: Soundwave

Although I have never been the biggest Transformers fan, I can still appreciate the sets Lego has been putting out recently. I even received the Optimus Prime set as a gift from family, and I really enjoyed the building process. This set seems to be no different, even if it’s based on a more obscure character. I really appreciate how the set can “transform” into a tape deck, just like the original action figure could. It even comes with a buildable “tape”! Regardless of how you display this set, it will look great on a shelf. I hope Lego continues to produce sets like these in the future. I’m specifically hoping for a Megatron set.

Regardless of what set you choose to purchase, there is fun to be had building for fans of many different IPs. Lego has certainly done a good job over the years of appealing to many different pop culture fans. I hope my recommendations do at least somewhat help with your decision.
